When is Tyson Fury's next fight? Opponent, date and venue after Saudi Arabia hint

Tyson Fury is expected to make another defence of his WBC World Heavyweight Title early this year, with the expectation being that he will be facing Oleksandrr Usyk for the undisputed heavyweight championship of the world.

However, following reports earlier this month that a date and venue had been set, things have gone quiet and no official announcement has yet been made. The fight with Usyk would be the biggest in boxing, with the Ukrainian holding the unified WBA (Super), IBF, and WBO heavyweight titles following successive wins against Anthony Joshua.

He also holds the Ring Magazine title which was held by Fury until last summer, when talk of the 34-year-old's impending retirement led the organisation to award the belt to the winner of Anthony Joshua vs Usyk in August. Fury did not retire, instead he faced Derek Chisora at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in December, comfortably beating the 38-year-old with a tenth round knockout.

Observers can justify the decision to face Chisora as a fight to stay sharp ahead of a date with Usyk early this year, but with things having gone quiet lately, here is everything we know at the moment about Fury's next opponent:

Who is Tyson Fury fighting next?

Tyson Fury is expected to name Usyk as his next opponent, with the world of boxing desperate to see the two heavyweights collide. However, the talk is that Fury's financial demands are said to have slowed negotiations, with Usyk's camp said to be fighting for a bigger share of the purse for a Wembley fight on April 29.

This has led to speculation over who could be the alternative, with Joe Joyce having been confirmed by Fury himself as well as promoter Frank Warren to be next in line. However, this cannot take place until later this year at the earliest, with Joyce defending his WBO interim heavyweight title against China's Zhilei Zhang on April 15.

This has opened the door for a new name to enter the fray, with Deontay Wilder entering the conversation due to his meeting with Fury in Saudi Arabia at Tommy Fury vs Jake Paul on Sunday. However, after their trilogy, they may struggle to drum up interest for a fourth fight and talk is that he engaged in conversations about fighting Francis Ngannou during his visit.
