Elsewhere, French striker Olivier Giroud swapped Arsenal for Chelsea and Andre Ayew ditched West Ham for Swansea in an £18m move.

This month has already seen plenty of significant moves, with Gonzalo Higuain arriving at Chelsea and Ryan Babel’s surprise move to Fulham.

When is transfer deadline day?

This year’s January window ‘slams shut’ on Thursday 31 February 2019.

What time does the window close?

The window shuts at 11pm GMT.

What about other countries?

Many of the major European leagues, including those in Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Scotland and the Netherlands, also close on January 31.
