In today's digital world, movies tend to hit streaming fairly quickly after release, or, they're given a hybrid theatrical-streaming premiere (i.e. Five Nights at Freddy's). Marvel, however, tends to take their sweet time when it comes to putting their big blockbusters on streaming, so it could be a while before Thunderbolts heads to Disney Plus.
So, when is Thunderbolts on streaming? Well, we finally have a Digital and Blu-ray release date, meaning a streaming release date isn't too far behind. Plus, thanks to trends and patterns from Marvel when it comes to streaming, we have a pretty good estimation of when that date will be.

When is Thunderbolts on Disney Plus? Streaming release date speculation
As a rule, new Marvel releases typically arrive on Disney Plus around 90 days after they hit cinemas. Captain America: Brave New World and Deadpool and Wolverine took a bit longer, however, with the former taking 103 days to hit Disney Plus, and the latter taking 97 days.
Thunderbolts is now set to hit Digital on July 1, with a Blu-ray release coming on July 29th. With that in mind, we anticipate Thunderbolts will be available to Disney Plus subscribers in mid-August 2025, potentially even later in the month.
Brave New World became available to rent and buy on digital storefronts on April 15 and hit physical stores on May 13, before its streaming release on May 28. This means Thunderbolts could very well hit streaming two weeks after its Blu-ray release – so keep an eye out for August.
