While there is still the lottery of the play-offs to come, the makeup of the 2022 World Cup is starting to take shape,
England, Serbia, Croatia and Spain all recently confirmed their places at the tournament with European Champions Italy, Scotland and Wales amongst those in the play-offs.

When and where is the World Cup play-offs draw?
The draw is currently scheduled to take place in April 2022, following the completion of the play-offs in March.
Which nations have qualified for Qatar 2022?
So far: Qatar (hosts), Germany, Denmark, Brazil, Belgium, France, Croatia, Spain, Serbia, England, Switzerland, Netherlands
What teams are in the play-offs?
Scotland, Wales, Poland, Portugal, North Macedonia, Italy, Russia, Sweden, Austria, Czech Republic, Ukraine, Turkey.
How do the play-offs work?
The play-offs will take place between March 24 and March 29 2022.
Ten runners-up from the initial qualification groups will be joined by the two best group winners from the UEFA Nations League of 2020/21 who have not already qualified.
Those 12 teams will be drawn into three different paths containing a one-legged semi-final and a final, with the three winners of the latter game qualifying.
Of the ten runners-up from the qualification groups, six teams will be seeded (those who amassed the highest number of points) with those who joined from the Nations League joining as unseeded.
By earning a seeding, teams are afforded a home semi-final.
How does the draw work?
The teams will be divided into four pots once all of the entrants are confirmed.
As hosts, Qatar will join the top seven sides in the FIFA World Rankings. The second pot will be made up of the next sides down the rankings and then again for the final two pots.
Once when they have been decided, the groups will be drawn ahead of the tournament starting on Monday November 21, 2022.
