The Tartan Army are celebrating after Scotland moved a step closer to reaching next winter’s World Cup.
A 2-0 win in Moldova secured a play-off place to seal second place in Group F and keep Steve Clarke’s men in the hunt Qatar 2022 and a return to the world stage for the first time since 1998.
Scotland still have their final qualifier to come against Euro 2020 semi finalists Denmark at Hampden on Monday night.
And after that all the attention will turn to the play offs with 13 spots available to European nations for Qatar and three of those will come from the play-off route.
Here’s all you need to know about the big draw.
When is the World Cup 2022 play off draw?
The play off draw for the European nations takes place in Zurich, Switzerland, on Friday, November 26 at 4pm UK time.
Who will be in the hat?
The UEFA play offs will feature 12 teams, including ten group runners-up and the remaining two spots will be taken by the best two 2020/21 Nations League group winners who did not finish in the top two in their section.
Where can you watch the draw?
The draw will be streamed live on FIFA.com, excluding in territories where it will be broadcast live on TV.
And what is the format for the playoffs?
The 12 teams will be divided into three playoff paths, each featuring four countries, to determine the final three European berths. The format will consist of two knockout rounds from which the three additional teams qualify.
Will it be home and away legs?
No. And that could be a good omen for Scotland as it will be a repeat of last year when it moved from the traditional two-legged affairs due to Covid.
