While Montenegro and Thailand are to join the red list, also from August 30.

No countries have been moved from the green or red to the amber list, which remains the same.

Sometimes destinations are downgraded to red, where hotel quarantine is mandatory on arrival to England, or amber, where travellers must isolate for 10 days unless vaccinated.

It can also be good news, with countries joining the green list - where no quarantine is necessary, but holidaymakers must carry out a series of Covid tests.

However a large proportion of destinations are at risk of being moved to the amber list at any time, categorised under the 'green watchlist', creating uncertainty for holidaymakers.
