When is the Papa John's Trophy draw and who could Sunderland get?

Sunderland will find out their Papa John's Trophy quarter-final opponents on Saturday night.

The Black Cats have made it to the last eight of of the competition following their 2-0 win over Port Vale last week.

And that means they are in the hat along with seven other sides for the draw.

Sunderland reached the final of the competition in 2019, losing to Portsmouth on penalties on a dramatic day at Wembley.

When is the Papa John's Trophy quarter-final draw?

The draw takes place on Saturday, January 23 and will be broadcast as part of the EFL highlights programme on Quest.

The programme airs between 9pm-10.30pm and is hosted by Colin Murray.

Will the draw be regionalised?

No, there is no regional split in this draw, unlike previous rounds.

Who can Sunderland face?
