A new R.E.P.O. update has been announced by developers Semiwork, and it's coming later this year with new gameplay content.
I was pretty happy with the additions in the previous update, but things are already improving. With at least one more content update coming this year, there's never been a better time to pick up the game (it's also on a discount as of writing on Aug. 29).
Let's look at what we know about the update, including its release date.
R.E.P.O. Monster Update release countdown
Titled as Monster Update, the next major patch will be, you guessed it, all about monsters. The release date for the patch has been announced, and it's going live on Oct. 30. The exact launch time for the upcoming R.E.P.O. patch is yet to be announced, but the following countdown is based on the last update.
The countdown is based on the following timings.
- 6am PT
- 8am CT
- 9am ET
- 1pm UTC
- 2pm BST
It's highly possible that the launch time for the Monster Update could be different. If so, we will update our countdown to reflect the change.
All R.E.P.O. Monster Update features
So far, we know there will be new monsters, gameplay mechanics, and more. The new monsters will heavily influence the update, sticking to the Halloween theme. But there won't be many spoilers. We managed to get glimpses of one of the upcoming monsters, which looks like something out of a Silent Hill trailer.
That said, there will be regular dev vlogs and a Q&A session on Sept. 5. I'm hopeful that we will be able to know more in the coming weeks. While the update has me all excited, it might be the best time to start R.E.P.O. now. You can take advantage of the discount, and get yourself updated with the existing content before jumping into the update in October.
