When Is the Next MLB The Show 25 Roster Update?

By now, a lot of Diamond Dynasty players in MLB The Show 25 have finished the Live Series collection. Well, the lucky ones have. For others who haven’t gotten as much pack luck this year or haven’t had the time to grind the game for rewards, a lot of them will be clinging on to investments in order to finally reach their goals of completing Live Series, just in time for some of the endgame content to begin dropping. But, when can MLB The Show 25 players expect the next roster update? And what cards should they be investing in?

Also, just to clarify, Live Series isn’t the only benefit to investing in cards to flip later for Stubs. Collections — which have been a massive part of this year’s game cycle — can also be completed by generating Stubs to pay for the more expensive cards that are required.

Here’s when players can expect the new roster update to go live in MLB The Show 25.

When Is The Next Roster Update In MLB The Show 25?

Most roster updates in MLB The Show drop every 2-3 weeks on Fridays. The last one was released on July 11, so many players wouldn’t be unwise to think that another one is on tap for July 25. However, nothing in the Diamond Dynasty menus suggests that such an update is forthcoming. As of now, the advertised updates are Weekend Classic, 6th Inning Program, and Gunnar Henderson Takeover, which are scheduled to arrive on Friday. A Hall of Fame program, Diamond Quest, and a bunch of other content are scheduled for the 27th. However, no roster update appears.

That said, MLB The Show 25 players can reasonably expect the next roster update to take place on August 1. Come that date, it would be three weeks since the previous update, which would be at the very end of the typical window they’re released on.

Now that we have an idea of when the next roster update is, which players should you be investing in?

Which Players To Invest In

Roster updates in MLB The Show impact Live Series cards, reflecting a player’s performance over specific parts of the season. In turn, a player’s overall will either increase or decrease based on those performances. Once a player’s overall changes, the amount they can be quick sold for that value. For instance, if a player goes from an 84 OVR (Gold) to an 85 OVR (Diamond), their quicksell value goes from 1500 Stubs to 3000 Stubs. That means if you buy them for 1500 or pack them, you can more than double your investment. Check out a more detailed explanation of quicksell values in MLB The Show 25 here.

Here are a few players who could see massive gains based on recent performances, and possibly even see their card rarities change.

  • Carlos Rodon (84 OVR)
  • Nick Kurtz (72 OVR)
  • Salvador Perez (73 OVR)
  • Denzel Clarke (71 OVR)
  • Tommy Pham (71 OVR)
  • Brett Baty (70 OVR)
  • Luis Robert Jr. (74 OVR)
  • Kyle Stowers (73 OVR)

Some of these cards will be cheaper. However, others will already be listed at their presumed prices in anticipation of an upgrade. Before buying anything, be sure to check your Inventory for duplicates of them. After the roster update goes live, you can quicksell these dupes without so much as lifting a finger.
