Spring is in full swing and many of us are looking forward to making the most of the extra-long weekends coming our way. In May the UK usually gets two bank holidays, one at the very start and one at the end of the month.
However, 2022 is set to be a little different thanks to the Queen's platinum jubilee celebrations. While it means we won't get two bank holidays in May, we will get an extra one overall this year.
To celebrate the unprecedented anniversary, which marks the Queen's 70 years on the throne, there will be a four-day celebration in June. The spring bank holiday, which usually takes place at the end of May, is being moved to Thursday, June 2 and an additional one is being added for the platinum jubilee on Friday, June 3.

The next bank holidays in the 2022 calendar, however, is Good Friday, which falls on Friday, April 15. This is followed by Good Monday on Monday, April 18.
