For those missing the theatre more than ever in lockdown, Disney+ is releasing one of the most-awaited stage-to-screen musicals of all time: Hamilton.
The Tony Award and Pulitzer prize-winning musical is set for release on the streaming service next month.

What’s Hamilton the musical about?
The hip hop musical about American Founding father Alexander Hamilton by Lin-Manuel Miranda was nominated for a record 16 Tonys, scoring 11 including Best Musical in 2016.
The show opened in London on December 6 2017 following its successful Broadway run, and follows the story of immigrant Hamilton who captains an artillery division in the War of Independence before becoming an aide to General George Washington.
Hamilton led a bayonet charge against besieged British forces in 1781 at Yorktown, Virginia, co-founded the first bank in North America and worked as a lawyer, helping to forge the US Constitution.
The story is full of twists and turns, and has a gripping soundtrack throughout - it’s enough to captivate even those who don’t usually love musicals.
