When is the FA Cup quarter final draw? Date, time and ball numbers for sixth round

The FA Cup fifth round ties have got underway with 16 teams vying for a place in the quarter final between now and Thursday night.

As with all other rounds in this year's competition, every tie will be decided on the night as the truncated season means there are no replays.

Several big names have already crashed out.

Premier League champions Liverpool and FA Cup holders Arsenal were both knocked out in the fourth round, while Everton and Tottenham Hotspur play each other on Wednesday night, meaning one of them will not make the last eight.

The first two teams qualified on Tuesday night, when Bournemouth caused an upset by beating Burnley 2-0 at Turf Moor, before Manchester United needed extra time to get past West Ham.

When is the FA Cup sixth round draw?

The FA has announced that the draw will take place on Thursday evening between the final two fifth round ties, Wolves vs Southampton which starts at 5.30pm and Barnsley vs Chelsea at 8pm.

The draw is expected to be held at 7.45pm, unless Wolves vs Southampton goes to extra time. If it does, the draw will be held afterwards, probably at half-time or full-time of Barnsley vs Chelsea.

Ball numbers

The eight ball numbers for the quarter final draw are:

1 Bournemouth
2 Manchester United
3 Sheffield United or Bristol City
4 Wolves or Southampton
5 Barnsley or Chelsea
6 Everton or Tottenham Hotspur
7 Swansea City or Manchester City
8 Leicester City or Brighton

Ties will be played over the weekend of March 20-21.

How to watch the draw

Fans can watch the draw on BBC One as part of its coverage of Barnsley vs Chelsea, as well as on BT Sport 1 which is showing Wolves vs Southampton.

The FA Cup's own YouTube, Twitter and Facebook accounts will also be streaming the draw, which will be hosted by Reshmin Choudhury with Karen Carney drawing the balls out.
