When is the Europa League draw as Rangers and Celtic go into the group stage hat

Both Rangers and Celtic secured an extended run in Europe on Thursday.

Celtic outlasted AZ Alkmaar in the Netherlands to secure a crucial Europa League group stage berth for the fourth season running.

Ange Postecoglou's side were beaten 2-1 on the night but prevailed 3-2 on aggregate.

Covid-hit Rangers also got the job done as a goalless draw against 10-man Alashkert proved enough to see them through.

Boss Steven Gerrard didn't travel and they were without keepers Allan McGregor and Jon McLaughin, skipper James Tavernier, Calvin Bassey, Scott Wright and Ryan Kent.

However, despite a lacklustre display, Rangers also reached the groups for a fourth consecutive campaign.

With two clubs back in the group stage it could be a huge lift to the Scottish Premiership.

Here's everything you need to know ahead of the draw.

When and where is the draw?

The draw for the group stage will take place in Istanbul on Friday 27 August at 11am BST.
