After a year of waiting, Euro 2020 finally gets under way tonight when Italy face Turkey.
It marks the start of a month-long tournament which sees 24 countries battle it out over 11 venues throughout Europe.
But nothing happens without the opening ceremony, of course, which takes place in Rome's Stadio Olipmico before the first game this evening (Friday, June 11).
The ceremony will be televised on BBC One for free, with coverage from 7pm BST for an 8pm kick-off.
The ceremony precedes the 8pm kick-off, and Italy's undersecretary for sport, Valentina Vezzali says it will be a great occasion for their country.
“This result isn’t just for football, but all of Italian sport,” Vezzali said.
“It’s not opening a stadium, but a symbolic moment. It is the light at the end of the tunnel. We hope that June 11 can be the culminating moment of a process of rebirth for the entire sporting movement."
The action continues on Saturday when Wales take on Switzerland in Baku (2pm), followed by Denmark vs Finland (5pm) and Belgium vs Russia (8pm).
England start their campaign against Croatia on Sunday (2pm) while Scotland take on the Czech Republic on Monday, June 14 (2pm).
