The draw for the 2022 World Cup play-offs will take place on Friday, November 26 – 10 days after the final European group stage qualifiers.
The draw will be held in Zurich, Switzerland and is set to get under way at 4pm UK time.
There will be 12 teams from Europe involved in the draw, the 10 World Cup qualification group runners-up along with the two best UEFA Nations League group winners who did not finish in the top-two spots in their qualification group.
The top six qualifying group runners-up will be seeded for the draw, meaning they will have home ties, while the remaining six teams will be unseeded and therefore will be the away teams.
The 12 teams will be divided into three paths of four teams, meaning each team will contest a semi-final before three finals take place to determine which three teams progress through to the World Cup.
To determine which semi-final winner will play at home in the final, an additional draw will be held for each path.
The play-off semi-finals will take place over the course of March 24 and 25, while the finals will be played on March 28 and 29.
