Villarreal’s historic 20/21 Europa League triumph

Follow live reaction from the Champions League draw as the four English teams discovered their fates.

The 2019 champions Liverpool were among the top seeds after winning their group with a perfect six-from-six record and drew Salzburg in the last 16. Fellow group winners and three-time European champions Manchester United were unfortunate to get Paris Saint-Germain while the reigning Premier League champions Manchester City have been handed a tie against Europa champions Villarreal. Chelsea finished second in their group, but Thomas Tuchel’s reigning European champions avoided Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Ajax, instead facing Lille in the last 16.

First legs are taking place on 15-16 and 22-23 February, before second legs on 8-9 and 15-16 March.
