When is the Carabao Cup third round draw? Date, time and who's involved

England’s secondary cup competition is well and truly underway as the Carabao Cup prepares to draw out its final 32 teams before we even reach the end of the first month of the new season.

The third round draw will see the seven Premier League clubs involved in European competition enter the fold, including current competition holders Liverpool, as the lower league sides who have made it this far will be hoping to land themselves a luxury tie.

Here is all you need to know about the draw for the third round of the Carabao Cup, including when it is, how to watch and who’s involved.

When is the draw for the Carabao Cup third round?

The draw for the third round of the Carabao Cup will take place following the conclusion of the televised second round tie between Tranmere Rovers and Newcastle United on Wednesday, August 24.

How to watch

The game between Tranmere and Newcastle will be televised on Sky Sports Main Event, Sky Sports Football and Sky Sports Ultra HDR, while Sky customers can stream this via SkyGo and watch in-game clips on the Sky Sports website and app.

Coverage will begin at 7pm, with the third round draw expected to take place around 10pm.

These are Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur ( Champions League ), Arsenal, Manchester United (Europa League) and West Ham United (Europa Conference League).

They will be joined by the 25 winners of the second round ties, while the draw for the third round of the Carabao Cup will no longer be regionalised into ‘north’ and ‘south’ sections, meaning that anyone can be drawn against anyone.
