When is the 2022 FIFA World Cup draw? Key dates and information for Qatar 2022

It is almost exactly one year until the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar begins and early excitement is starting to build after the drama during the final international break of the year.

European qualification for the tournament is further ahead than other continents and 10 nations have already sealed their place for next year after winning their individual groups, while Brazil and Argentina have also qualified from South America.

The 22nd edition of the World Cup is set to take place from November 21 - December 18 2022 and although this is usually a tournament that takes place during the summer, the hot weather conditions in Qatar at that time of year have resulted in it being moved to the winter instead.

It will be only the second World Cup held in Asia, after the 2002 edition in South Korea and Japan, and the last one to feature 32 teams before it increases to 48 teams in 2026.
