When is the 2019 MLB trade deadline?

With the MLB postseason just a few months away, clubs have just a few hours left to try and improve their World Series chances with an impact deal on trade deadline day. We’ve seen a few notable moves already, with Marcus Stroman heading to the Mets over the weekend, before both Yasiel Puig and Trevor Bauer were involved in a three-team deal that went down on Tuesday evening.

The 2019 MLB trade deadline is 4:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday, July 31st.

There is no longer a distinction between the “non-waiver trade deadline” and the “waiver trade deadline,” which typically fell on August 31st. Trades will not be permitted after 4 ET on July 31st. All players acquired, by any means, after August 31st will not be eligible for postseason play.
