When is tennis’ 2020 US Open?

Despite the fact that there are all kinds of big names pulling out of the 2020 U.S. Open — Nick Kyrgios and Ashleigh Barty are among them as of publishing this post — the event is still on despite the COVID-19 pandemic continuing.

In fact, the dates for the event are staying the same.

Per a USTA statement in July, “We remain confident that our top priority, the health and safety of all involved in both tournaments, remains on track. … We have developed a strong health and safety plan to mitigate the risk of infection within the contained environment comprised of the tournament site and player hotels. New York State continues to be one of the safest places in the country as it relates to the COVID-19 virus.”

So when is the 2020 U.S. Open?

It’s scheduled to start Monday, Aug. 31 and finish on Sunday, Sept. 13.
