When is Sunderland vs Southend, is it on TV, can you still buy tickets and who is in the teams?

Sunderland welcome Southend to the Stadium of Light on Saturday as Phil Parkinson looks to kickstart his reign as Black Cats boss.

Parkinson's side missed a golden opportunity to reach the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday as they were beaten on penalties by fellow League One side Oxford United.

They now return to league action and know a win over second-bottom Southend could lift the Black Cats into the play-off places.

Parkinson has won just one of his first four games in charge but will have targeted the Shrimpers as a big chance to restore Sunderland to winning ways.

The Shrimpers have recently appointed former England and Arsenal defender Sol Campbell as their new manager. Campbell miraculously guided Macclesfield to League Two safety after inheriting the club in a perilous position in the league table. He will look to emulate that achievement with Southend in League One.
