Salford plays host to the annual Sports Personality of the Year awards ceremony this weekend, where six nominees are in the hunt.
Manchester's own Tyson Fury is among those nominated, along with tennis sensation Emma Raducanu and Olympian Tom Daley, as well as Manchester City star Raheem Sterling and Eccles-born Paralympic cyclist Dame Sarah Storey.
Last year, Lewis Hamilton clinched the award after a record-equalling seventh Formula 1 world championship win but isn't in the running this year, having lost his crown to Max Verstappen in dramatic circumstances in Abu Dhabi at the weekend.
It means there will be a new name receiving the award, with none of the six nominees having won the award previously, and we've got everything you need to know about the event.
When and where is the event?
The 2021 Sports Personality of the Year award ceremony will take place this weekend on Sunday, December 19th.
Salford's MediaCity is the venue, which is welcoming crowds back having taken place behind closed doors amid the coronavirus pandemic last year.

The event gets underway at 6:45pm this weekend and will run through to 9pm, with a number of other awards also set to be handed out.
