When is Princess Beatrice's royal wedding? Date, venue, fiancée and more

Princess Beatrice announced her engagement to multi-millionaire boyfriend Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi last year.

The 31-year-old royal, who is ninth in line to the throne, got engaged to Edoardo while on holiday in Italy in 2019.

In a statement the couple said: "We are both so excited to be embarking on this life adventure together and can't wait to be married. We share so many similar interests and values and we know this will stand us in great stead for the years ahead, full of love and happiness."

Here's everything we know about Beatrice's royal wedding so far...

When and where is the royal wedding?

Princess Beatrice's wedding will take place on 29 May 2020, at the Chapel Royal at St James Palace.

The reception was going be held on the same day at Buckingham Palace, but has been cancelled over the coronavirus pandemic.

The couple are said to be deciding whether to push ahead with a smaller, more intimate reception - but there is some speculation that they may decide to postpone the wedding entirely.

Chapel Royal was reportedly chosen for its "intimate atmosphere" - with a central London location, it holds just 150 guests.

Prince George was christened at the Chapel Royal in 2013, and in 1840 it was the setting for Queen Victoria's wedding to Prince Albert.

Who is Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi?

Princess Beatrice's fiancée Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi is a multi-millionaire property tycoon who has been a friend of the York family for some years.

The son of a former Olympic skier, 36-year-old Edoardo is a Count himself.

He has a young son, named Wolfie, with his former fiancée Dara Huang.

Edoardo's stepfather was Christopher Hale, a close friend of David Cameron who died from heart disease at Glastonbury in 2011.

How did Beatrice and Edoardo meet?

Edoardo is an old family friend of the Yorks, and it is believed that he began dating Beatrice after they reconnected at Princess Eugenie's wedding to Jack Brooksbank in October 2018.

Beatrice was previously in a ten year relationship with Dave Clark, which ended in 2016.

Who will attend the royal wedding?

We can expect to see the majority of the royal family celebrating Princess Beatrice's wedding next year.

Beatrice is the granddaughter of the Queen and the cousin of Princes William and Harry. She is ninth in line to the throne, after Prince Charles, Prince William, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis, Prince Harry, Archie and her father Prince Andrew.

It is likely that Beatrice's younger sister Princess Eugenie will be maid of honour, and we can expect to see Princess Charlotte and Prince George as a bridesmaid and pageboy at the wedding.

Prince Louis and Archie may be too young to be pageboys, but they are sure to attend the wedding with their parents.

Princess Beatrice's wedding will be the last royal wedding for some time - the Queen's two remaining unmarried grandchildren, Lady Louise Windsor and James Viscount Severn, are just 15 and 11 years old.

Will the royal wedding be on TV?

While Princess Eugenie's 2018 royal wedding was broadcast on ITV, there are no plans for Beatrice's wedding to be televised.

It's reportedly going to be a smaller, more intimate occasion. While 800 guests watched Eugenie marry Jack Brooksbank in 2018, Beatrice and Edo's wedding venue holds just 150 people.

Beatrice is not a full-time working royal, and no public money will be spent on her wedding.
