Racegoers can bet on a Ladies Day full of entertainment this summer following news of a new sponsor deal for Newcastle Racecourse which will be introducing the likes of dining pods and pop-up bars to the action.
Gainford Group, the family company whose portfolio includes bar-restaurants and hotels across Newcastle, is to be the main sponsor on the day and will be helping the hugely popular event go with a swing on July 23, with new additions as well as the official after party - a hit on previous years - at its Quayside venue Aveika. A free shuttle bus will ferry racegoers there at the end of the day and entry will be free.
Ladies Day, like June's Plate Day, is a highlight of both the sporting and social calendar at High Gosforth Park and alway sees crowds dressed to the nines to enjoy the occasion. There is a range of ticket options available to pick from and now there is also a Gainford Pods in the Park Package to tempt people.

This, hosted with Sim’s Kitchen in Gateshead, will include gourmet food platters inside a luxury dining pod in a fenced-off VIP area within the centre of the racecourse. Also included will be bar facilities, outdoor seating and live entertainment.
Imran Khaliq, director of Gainford Group - whose businesses, besides the likes of city favourites Livello, The Hudson, The Vermont and The County, also include care homes - said the company is excited to be taking its involvement with Newcastle Racecourse a step further with the sponsorship deal. "Over the past seven years, we’ve built a long-standing-relationship and been part of the growth and success of the key events at the racecourse, with our venues becoming the go-to after parties," he said.
"We’ve now taken the opportunity to become the main sponsor which will give the guests at the racecourse a chance to experience some of our pop-up venues dotted around the course, along with hosting the official after-party at Aveika." He said the group looks forward to working with the racecourse "at all key events" in the future too.
