It's the start of a four-day Bank Holiday weekend today (Friday, April 15) with millions of Brits set to make the most of the Easter sunshine. The April long weekend marks the first of a series of Spring bank holidays, but this year the calendar looks a bit different.
This year the bank holidays have changed to accommodate the Queen's platinum jubilee celebrations, taking place from June 2 to June 5. The spring bank holiday, which usually takes place at the end of May, is being moved to Thursday, June 2 and an additional one is being added for the platinum jubilee on Friday, June 3.
While it means we won't get two bank holidays in May, we will get an extra one overall this year. Of course we still have May Day, which falls on May 2, and the August bank holiday weekend, too.
