Fans of Nottingham's very own TV queen won't have to wait too much longer to see her back on our screens as an air date for Vicky McClure's new hard-hitting drama has been revealed.
I Am Nicola, the first of three one-off episodes in the I Am series, which examines themes including relationships, identity and empowerment, will land in living rooms tonight (Tuesday, July 23) on Channel 4 at 10pm.
The show, written by Dominic Savage, will reunite long time friends and former This Is England co-stars Vicky, 36, and Perry Fitzpatrick, who is best known for his turn as Flip in the Shane Meadows series.
Channel 4 announced last year it would be commissioning an “emotionally raw” anthology series made up of three hour-long films starring Wollaton-born Vicky, fellow Nottingham star and Academy Award nominee Samantha Morton and Humans actress Gemma Chan.
The three films, entitled I Am Kirsty, I Am Hannah, and I Am Nicola, will “explore the experience of three women in moments that are emotionally raw, thought-provoking and utterly personal”.
They were all shot over the summer and autumn of 2018.
I Am Nicola will be on Channel 4 at 10pm.
