When is Josh Taylor vs Ivan Baranchyk? Fight date, time, tickets, undercard and more

Josh Taylor gets his first shot at the IBF super-lightweight title this weekend as he faces undefeated Belarusian Ivan Baranchyk.

Taylor last fought back in November 2018 when he defeated American Ryan Martin in the seventh round in the World Boxing Super Series super-lightweight quarter-final.

The semi-final between the pair will take place in the SSE Hydro in Glasgow.

The winner will go through to the final of the Super Series and face undefeated American Regis Prograis who defeated Belarusian Kiryl Relikh back in April to progress through.

When is it?

Saturday, May 18, The fighters will be expected to make the ring walk around 10.20pm.

Where is it?

The fight will be held at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland.

The capacity of the arena is 13,000.

What TV channel will it be on?

The fight is being broadcast live on Sky Sports Action. The coverage will begin at 9pm starting with the undercard bouts.

Are tickets still available?

There are only a few tickets left so you’ll have to be fast, websites such as StubHub and Viagogo have a few tickets left, as cheap as £42, but with the majority £60 or more.

Who is Ivan Baranchyk?

Ivan is a Belarusian boxer at the age of 26, holding an 19 win, 0 loss record.

The Belarusian defeated Swedish boxer Anthony Yigit in the seventh round of the Super Series quarter-final which has gave him the chance to hand Josh Taylor his first defeat in the semi-final.

By defeating Yigit, Baranchyk now holds the vacant IBF light welterweight title.

It will be the first time Baranchyk has fought in the UK with the rest of his fights being held in Belarus and the U.S.
