When is it going to stop raining in Greater Manchester?

Greater Manchester is currently under a Met Office amber weather warning, with in some parts of the region.

The Environment Agency have issued several flood warnings for the area including for the River Mersey, the Upper River Douglas, the River Irwell, the River Roch and the River Glaze.

'Severe' flooding has blocked the train lines between Manchester Victoria and Liverpool , and between Rochdale and Todmorden.

Heavy rain has also caused problems on the roads and motorways.

The A560 in Baguley next to Wythenshawe Park was flooded, as was Perth Street in Oldham.

Commuters are being warned to expect disruption as the rain continues to batter the region.

The weather warning remains in place until 6am on Friday.

But hope is on the horizon, as forecasters predict that it should stop raining by around 2am.

The Met Office are predicting only a 10% chance of rain around this time.

The Met Office currently have a yellow weather warning in place for Manchester (Met Office)

Then by 5am, the chance of rain drops to less than 5%.

Friday should be completely different picture, with mainly dry weather and sunny spells across Greater Manchester throughout the day.

There may be more rain again on Saturday, but no warnings are in place for flooding.
