When is Fifa putting more World Cup tickets on sale?

  • Fifa is set to release additional World Cup tickets on Wednesday 22 April at 4pm BST (11am ET), including seats in new, more expensive "front category" pricing.
  • The introduction of this new category has sparked significant online criticism from supporters, who allege superior seats were withheld in previous sales.
  • This follows earlier price increases, with tickets for the final rising from £6,400 in December to as much as £8,140 by April.
  • Reports indicate that ticket sales are lagging for certain matches, including the US opener against Paraguay and the Iran-New Zealand fixture.
  • Concerns have also been raised over the high cost of train tickets in some host cities, such as a £111 ($150) return fare to MetLife Stadium from central New York.
