When is England's World Cup squad announced? Date and time for 26-man team

England kick-off their World Cup campaign in 13 days and manager Gareth Southgate is preparing to announce his final 26-man squad.

The Three Lions have already named their 55-man preliminary squad, although more than half of those players will now face the axe ahead of the final announcement later this week, despite there being one last round of Premier League fixtures to come before the international break.

Here is all you need to know about England’s 26-man squad announcement, including when it is, what time it will be released and who faces missing out altogether as the clock begins to tick ahead of this week’s deadline.

When is the deadline for World Cup squads?

FIFA have set a deadline of 4pm (GMT) on Monday, November 14 for all 32-participating World Cup teams to announce their final 26-man squads - just six days before the tournament begins.

When will England’s squad be announced?

Southgate will confirm England’s final 26-man squad for the World Cup at 2pm on Thursday, November 10.

This allows the England boss to make any late changes in case of last minute injuries that may be obtained during the final round of Premier League fixtures this weekend.

Who will be selected?

Southgate has already confirmed his expanded preliminary squad of 55 players on Friday, October 21. However, the list was not made public and it is unclear as to who the full list of players contains.

Nonetheless, there are a number of certainties who will most definitely be on the plane to Qatar next week, while England’s team selection for September’s Nations League fixtures against Italy and Germany gave plenty of insight as to who will be named in the 26-man World Cup squad.

Who was named in England’s September squad?

Goalkeepers: Dean Henderson, Nick Pope, Aaron Ramsdale

Defenders: Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ben Chilwell, Conor Coady, Eric Dier, Marc Guehi, Reece James, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, John Stones, Fikayo Tomori, Kieran Trippier, Kyle Walker
