When is England's World Cup 2018 semi-final date and who do Gareth Southgate's side play next?

England’s 2-0 quarter-final win over Sweden guarantees them two more matches at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Goals from Harry Maguire and Dele Alli saw England reach the last four for the first time in 28-years and just the third time in history.

England will now play either Russia or Croatia in the World Cup 2018 semi-finals on Wednesday 11 July 2018.

The game takes place at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow, kicking off at 7.00pm.

They will then play in either the third place play-off on 14 July at 3.00pm, or the World Cup final on 15 July at 4pm.

Wednesday’s match in Moscow will be just the third World Cup semi-final England have played in the 88 year history of the Fifa World Cup.

In 1990 England beat Cameroon 3-2 after extra-time only to lose on penalty kicks to Germany in the World Cup semi-final.

England then lost 2-1 to Italy in the third place play-off.

In 1966 a brace from Bobby Charlton saw England beat Eusébio’s Portugal 2-1, before that famous 4-2 win over West Germany after extra-time at Wembley.
