When is Elf on over Christmas and how to watch it

It's simply not Christmas without watching some of your favourite festive films.

Among the most-loved classics is Elf who's making a comeback on the small screens all across the UK this year.

This classic Christmas film tells the story of Buddy the Elf (played by Will Ferrell) as he is dragged from his little home in the North Pole to New York City in hopes of finding his real dad.

Despite the film releasing in 2003, Elf is still considered to be an iconic festive film and it's not hard to see why - it tells a Christmas story of love and friendship while containing humour that the whole family can enjoy.

In a year where streaming platforms have become more dominant over traditional Freeview television, there is more than one way to watch Elf this year.

While is it not showing on Freeview this year, here are all the ways you can still watch Elf in 2021, just in time for Christmas.

Disney +

Disney's streaming platform has plenty of Christmas films to enjoy this year.

Among these of course is Elf which can be watched on the platform as part of your regular subscription.

If you want to watch Elf on Disney + you can grab a subscription for £7.99 a month or £79.90 a year which will allow you to stream the film on your TV, smartphone, tablet and computer.

Sky Cinema

Sky's Cinema service will be showing Elf frequently over the Christmas period.

Elf will be shown live at different times in the run-up to Christmas on both Sky Cinema and Sky Showcase at the following dates and times:

  • Thursday, December 23 - 9.35pm
  • Friday, December 24 - 12:50pm/5.05pm
  • Saturday, December 25 - 6.20pm
  • Sunday, December 26 - 2.30pm

Sky Cinema's service can be grabbed for £11 a month.

Now TV

Now TV is allowing subscribers to stream Elf all across the Christmas period.

If you don't have a Now TV subscription, you can get a week's worth of streaming for free with a 7-day free trial, if you don't feel like paying you can cancel before the end of the week.

A regular Now TV subscription costs £9.99 a month.
