When is Electric Picnic 2019? Line-up, schedule, how to get tickets and everything you need to know

Electric Picnic remains one of biggest events on Ireland's festival calendar, with tens of thousands set to flock to Stradbally in Co Laois later this month.

Some huge names are also on the line-up, which will inevitably lead to a last-minute scramble for tickets.

Here is everything you need to know ahead of the festival.

When is Electric Picnic 2019?

Revellers will descend on Stradbally Hall, Co Laois for the sold-out three-day event between August 30 and September 1.

Further information on accessing the venue and the various campsites can be found on the official site HERE.

Who is in the line-up?

This week Kodaline were added to the billing alongside Razorlight, King Kong Company and The Riptide Movement.

They will join headliners such as The Strokes, Hozier, The 1975 and Florence and The Machine.

Other big names at the festival include Gerry Cinnamon, Johnny Marr, J Hus, Charli XCX, Richie Hawtin, Richard Ashcroft, All Tvvins, Biig Piig, Brittany Howard, Cassia and David Keenan.

Also joining them are Declan J Donovan, DJ Seinfeld, Duff McKagan, Easy Life, Eve, Fjaak, Girl in Red, Ider, Inhaler, Just Mustard, Kettama, Le Boom, Maverick Sabre, Mella Dee, Otherkin, Powpig, Rebūke, Rob de Boer, Silverbacks, Soja, Somebody’s Child, Sports Team, Talos, Uly, Viagra Boys, White Reaper, Wild Youth, Working Men’s Club and Yonaka.

In addition to enjoying the tunes, revellers can relax in the tranquil whimsical wonderland of The Hazel Wood and The Body & Soul Village.

And organisers are ready to unveil Freetown, an exciting new area, which they say "promises to bring a whole new level of intrigue."

How can I get tickets?

Unfortunately there will be no way of getting tickets through official channels ahead of the event.

This year was the first time in the 15 years of the event that tickets have sold out months before the line-up was revealed.

This followed the early bird tickets selling out in September, just hours after going on sale - a mere four days after the festival ended.

However anyone looking to make the last-minute decision to attend the festival can scour various websites such as Viagogo or DoneDeal and use the hashtag #ticketfairy on Twitter.

This year a record 57,500 people are expected to attend - up from 55,000 in 2018.
