When is Christmas Jumper Day 2021: Wear a festive knit and do your bit

This year marks the tenth anniversary of Christmas Jumper Day, a big milestone for any charity.

As the name suggests, all you and your little ones have to do to take part in don your favourite garish knitwear to raise money for a fantastic cause which will help change the lives of children.

With Covid-19 lockdowns meaning children were not able to show off their outfits to friends and teachers last year, there's all the more reason to put on a festive fashion-show in the playground next month.

Already this year 2538 nurseries, 4601 primary schools and 1254 secondary schools have signed up to take part in this years festivities.

So whether you've picked out a subtle snowflake design or plan to go full walking Christmas tree by wearing a jumper which lights up, you'll be doing your bit for charity.

Here's what you need to know.

When is Christmas Jumper Day 2016?

This year Christmas Jumper Day will take place on Friday, December 10. You can still don your festive wear on a different day which suits you and make a donation however.

Which charity is it for?

Save The Children. The charity provide essential medication, food and education to underprivileged children worldwide.

Is there a suggested donation?

Businesses around the country are being encouraged to take part and ask employees to pay £2 for the privilege of wearing their Christmas jumper.

The suggested donation for school and nursery children is £1.

How do you sign up to get a fundraising pack?

Visit here and you should receive a fundraising pack within a fortnight.

How do you pay in?

You can sign up and pay in online at the Christmas Jumper Day website and slips will be provided in fundraising packs to pay in at a bank.
