Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool all still harbour hopes of qualifying for the knock-out stages of the 2018-19 Champions League.

City sit comfortably at the top of Group F and can be confident of qualifying as group winners, while Liverpool and United currently occupy runners-up positions in Groups C and H respectively.

Tottenham's chances of progression are slimmer after failing to win their first three games, though a win over PSV Eindhoven in the last round of fixtures has kept their hopes alive.

All four clubs are hoping to reach the round of 16, after full Premier League representation at the first knock-out stage last year.

When is the draw?

The draw takes place in Nyon on Monday 17 December, following the completion of the group stages on 12 and 13 December.

What time is the draw?

It is expected to be held at 11.00am GMT.

Where can I watch it?

The draw will be shown live by BT Sport.

If, however, you cannot watch the draw, you will be able to follow The Independent’s live blog.

Who has qualified?

At the time of writing, before the start of Matchday 5, Barcelona are the only team to have quailfied for the knock-out stages.

How does it work?

As per usual at this stage of the competition, the draw will be seeded, with group winners playing group runners-up.

No team can be drawn against another from their group stage. Teams cannot be drawn against others from their respective nation either.

The seeded group winners will play the first leg away and the second leg at home.

When will the Champions League round of 16 take place?

This year’s round of 16 matches will take place from 12 - 20 February, with the second legs following 5 - 13 March.
