The Carabao Cup steps up another gear this week as the remaining Premier League clubs enter the third round.

As the likes of Manchester United, Fulham and others face second-round ties before securing their place in the third-round hat, those top-flight clubs with European commitments this season got their usual bye into the next round.

That includes holders Newcastle, who beat Liverpool in last season’s final to end their 70-year trophy drought.

The two all-Premier League ties in the second round were played on Tuesday with Brentford securing an impressive win over Bournemouth. Meanwhile, Wolves heaped the pressure on Graham Potter with a comeback win over West Ham.

The Carabao Cup third-round draw will take place tonight, Wednesday, August 27, 2025.

An estimated start time of 10.15pm has been pencilled in, though that will be delayed if the fixture requires a penalty shootout. There will be no extra time.
