When is Black Friday 2021? All you need to know about the biggest shopping day before Christmas

Those of you who have not yet started your Christmas shopping need not worry - as Black Friday is rapidly approaching.

The shopping event originally took place in America and it was always the day after Thanksgiving.

It usually heralds the start of the Christmas rush for shops as a wide range of offers are put on to entice customers.

In the last few years, it has turned into a global event, with some people queueing from the early hours to try and nab a deal or two.

After a truncated one last year due to the coronavirus, expect to see the streets lined again later in the year in Ireland.

When is Black Friday 2021 in Ireland?

Black Friday for this year is November 26.

Coincidentally, that's the same day as the Late Late Toy Show!

Once again, it's the day after Thanksgiving, but don't worry if you can't get to the shops in time.

Usually, retailers will offer 'Black Friday deals' which last the entire week, particularly online.

When is Cyber Monday 2021?

And speaking of online, three days after Black Friday is Cyber Monday.

Cyber Monday is the equivalent of the shopping rush, but online.

Tech giants like Amazon and Apple usually have online-exclusive offers ready-to-go.

Warning from top retailers

Smyths Toys, one of the most popular outlets for children's presents at Christmas, is remaining tight-lipped on the sale date for their products this year.

A spokesperson said that "no toy sales specifically have been confirmed" but customers are encouraged to subscribe to their email campaigns for weekly offers.

It comes after the company issued a warning to parents last week ahead of the busy Christmas season.

Due to global issues concerning the availability of shipping containers, the toy superstore has advised parents to begin their Christmas shopping early this year to avoid disappointment.
