When is Black Friday 2019? Start date and biggest early deals that are now live

Black Friday 2019 is finally here, after many months of waiting. And this year, it comes right in time for pay day.

Whether you're after big discounts on the latest tech, money off your next ASOS order or just the best bargains out there to do all your Christmas shopping, there's certainly no shortage of deals come Black Friday 2019, with this year's arguably one of the biggest yet.

It seems like almost every shop in the UK is getting involved, with big discounts on food, tech, gaming, and even toilet roll. Yes, really...

We'll be keeping this page updating with all the top deals and information for the day ahead, with most offers set to last all weekend, until Cyber Monday on the 2 December.

While traditionally consisting of just one day of sales, this time round, the deals mayhem that is Black Friday started early at the likes of Currys, John Lewis and Amazon.

And as well as the big name retailers, plenty of smaller companies are also taking part in Black Friday this 2019, such as Gandys London who have up to 70% off, but also donate 10% of proceeds to setting up kids campuses worldwide.

As per usual, some of the best savings are set to be found on tech, with Amazon devices, TVs, laptops and plenty of SIM-only mobile phone deals some of the most discounted items up for grabs.

If you're after a new phone contract, Martin Lewis himself has raved about Three's 8GB for £8 Black Friday offering, which he claims is the 'cheapest he's ever seen'.

For everyone that misses out, the weekend of sales will then be followed by Cyber Monday, where shoppers get one last chance to bag a bargain.

In the UK, Black Friday will be on Friday 29 November 2019 with Cyber Monday taking place on the following Monday - so Monday 2 December 2019.

Originally a US tradition, the huge sales event has since spread across the pond to the UK, with retailers all across the nation all simultaneously discounting their products.

Therefore, Black Friday always falls immediately after the Thanksgiving holiday - ideally placed for the last pay check before Christmas.

While Black Friday used to be almost exclusively centred around tech, we're now seeing savings across multiple different categories, from fashion and beauty, to supermarkets and even things like toilet paper!

Whether you're on the hunt for some affordable tech, or just want to get the best bargains on your Christmas shopping, you don't have long to wait until Black Friday 2019. And it's well worth beginning to research what you want, and how much you're willing to pay for it.

Last year John Lewis reported a boost in fashion and beauty sales around Black Friday, highlighting it as one of the key areas that consumers snapped up, as the event grows in size and recognition in the UK.

How long does Black Friday last?

Most retailers like Amazon and Curry's launch deals over a week or so before Black Friday and Cyber Monday (such as Curry's Black Tag event), so you may be able to pick up bargains long before the big day.

We have noticed that prices do tend to fall slightly between the date they first launched and actual Black Friday, so it may be worth waiting it out for an extra discount when the ante gets upped around the Black Friday weekend - if you're not scared of stock running out, that is.

Whilst the majority of deals end on Cyber Monday, some retailers may keep going for a few days after, although nothing has been confirmed yet.

Black Friday - how to find a genuine deal

  1. Do your own research: Look at the price on previous days to make sure you really are getting a good deal. Shop at retailers with price promises, ensuring you can get a refund if your item drops in value in the weeks following your purchase.

  2. Focus your search: The easiest way to avoid being swayed by cut-price discounted price tags is to make a plan of what you actually need/want and how much you're willing to spend. This will make it easier for you to narrow your search and hone in on specific deals quicker.

  3. Bookmark relevant pages ahead of time: If you've been stalking that 42 inch TV or Apple iPad for weeks bookmark the pages so they're easy to find when the sales launch.

  4. Look for additional savings: Find ways to get free delivery, opt for click and collect services and sign up to cashback sites like Quidco and Topcashback where you'll earn extra cash on purchases you are going to make any way.
Sign up and save – Sign up to newsletters and emails from your favourite retailers to get early access to offers and VIP slots.

  5. Get social: Follow retailer social media pages for free delivery codes and more ways to save all day.
