When is Ann Widdecombe’s funeral? What to know as venue pays tribute to former MP

  • A private requiem mass for Ann Widdecombe will take place on Wednesday at Buckfast Abbey in Devon , where she regularly worshipped.
  • The 78-year-old former Conservative minister and Reform UK spokeswoman died on 8 July after being attacked at her Dartmoor home.
  • Joshua Kerry, 28, from Rotherham, South Yorkshire, was charged with her murder on 20 July.
  • Buckfast Abbey paid tribute to Ms Widdecombe, describing her as a dedicated public servant of profound faith and a kind, warm character.
  • A public memorial service will be held later in the year, following a request from her family to keep the initial funeral service private.
