Glastonbury 2021 dates and how to get tickets

After experiencing some of Glastonbury's most memorable sets from home over the weekend, many festival fans will be eagerly looking forward to it's return next year.

The event’s 50th anniversary, which was due to feature the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Sir Paul McCartney and Taylor Swift this year, had to be cancelled as the seriousness of the Covid-19 pandemic became clear.

At the time, organisers Michael and Emily Eavis said: “We were so looking forward to welcoming you all for our 50th anniversary with a line-up full of fantastic artists and performers that we were incredibly proud to have booked.

“Again, we’re so sorry that this decision [to cancel Glastonbury Festival 2020] has been made. It was not through choice. But we look forward to welcoming you back to these fields next year and until then, we send our love and support to all of you.”

However, plans are under way for the festival's return in 2021, with organisers confirming it will be held from Wednesday, June 23 to Sunday, June 27.

2020 bookings

Those who had paid their £50 deposits for this year’s festival can automatically roll those over for 2021.

Organisers have said the automatic rollover to next year’s festival applies to general admission, coach packages and accommodation.

Although the deposit balance rolls over to 2021, the remaining ticket balance will be for next year's festival price, which means the 2021 final ticket price could be more expensive than this year's.

Full ticket prices will be confirmed in September and the final balance due in April next year.

New tickets for 2021

For those who hadn’t planned to go to Glastonbury 2020 but want to go next year, organisers have said tickets will be available.

A statement on the festival website reads: “Yes, just as we were due to have a resale in April for the 2020 Festival, any tickets for which the deposit is returned before 15th September 2020 will be made available in a ticket sale in early October.

“To book tickets in any sale you will first need to be registered.”

Again, full prices will be confirmed in September with final balance payments due in April 2021.

Children who will be aged 12 or under during Glastonbury 2021 “are admitted free of charge and do not need a ticket, and do not need to register”.
