When forecasters think snow could fall in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire

Forecasters have given their predictions as to when Nottingham is expected to experience snow.

As the temperatures get colder, many of us might have been on the lookout for when snow is expected to fall in the city and county.

But according to Accuweather, you might have to consider getting the snow shoes out soon.

They say that snow could come to Nottingham next month.

It's currently forecast to fall on February 12. Snow showers can also be expected on February 15 and February 27.

The Met Office recently had its say on a 'polar surge' that will hit the country by the end of the month.

According to the official forecasts, any snow is likely to be restricted to the peaks of northern hills for the next few weeks, and temperatures are likely to be around average for the time of year.

The Met Office forecast covering January 28, and up to February 2, reads: "It will be staying cloudy for most with a risk of light rain or drizzle at times.

"However, it is expected to be largely dry and settled with bright spells and light winds. This will continue for the south further into the following week, whilst the north could be wetter and windier at times.

"Later on in this period, some rain may briefly spread further southeast across the UK, although the most unsettled weather is likely to remain in the north and northwest, where some hill snow is possible.

"Further southeast drier spells will be accompanied by the best of any brightness, along with the greatest risk of fog and frost. Temperatures will generally be near average, although a little below at times in the north."

Forecasters from the Met Office have predicted snow for the lower levels of the country next month.
