When ex-Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho hopes to be back in work as he drops Bundesliga hint

Could Jose Mourinho be back in management shortly?

The former Chelsea boss was dismissed by Manchester United shortly before Christmas last year and has been a pundit on beIN Sport for the most part of 2019.

But with the new season across Europe almost upon us, the 'special one' seemed to be dropping a hint about a return in the near future.

"Right now I'm studying German," he said, as per Gazzetta dello Sport .

When asked if that was a clue to taking over at a Bundesliga club, Mourinho responded by saying: "No, I am studying German because I miss this language. I speak English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian.

"Then, of course, I do not exclude anything, not even Germany."

At the moment the top jobs in Germany seem rather secure.

Niko Kovac overcame a sticky patch in his first season at Bayern Munich to guide them to a league and cup double, while good things are expected from Borussia Dortmund under Lucien Favre.

Therefore it could mean that Mourinho has to wait even longer for a return to management.

He was linked with a return to two of his former clubs earlier in the year.

However, Chelsea and Real Madrid opted for Frank Lampard and Zinedine Zidane respectively thus ensuring Mourinho remains a free agent.

And the Portuguese tactician has gone on record stating that he hopes to be back in work this month.

"I have a lot of qualities and one of them is to respect other clubs and their management,” he told  RMC in May. “I have never spoken like ‘this club wanted me, they contacted me.'

"When I left Manchester United in December, I immediately took the decision I want to work from summer. I hope to be back to work in July in a project I really like."
