When Everton can start building new stadium after Bramley-Moore Dock review

Everton could be on-site at their proposed new Bramley-Moore Dock stadium as early as spring 2021.

Liverpool City Council will convene a special planning committee hearing on Tuesday 23 February after a report recommending the plans be approved was released this evening.

Should the committee reach the same conclusion, the 52,888 capacity stadium application is referred - as a matter of standard procedure - to Robert Jenrick, Secretary of the State for the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government [MHCLG].

MHCLG then have 21 days to review the application and make their final decision, although a reckoning may take longer because of the pressures on the government during the current coronavirus pandemic.

But, if given approval, Everton will finalise funding for the build, put in place a final build schedule - currently slated to take less than three years - and discharge planning conditions.

This would lead to the club being on-site and delivering planning benefits by spring or summer this year.
