When Emmerdale stars tried to help Gordon Ramsay save a kitchen nightmare

Emmerdale stars tried to help Gordon Ramsay save a doomed restaurant in an episode of Kitchen Nightmares UK.

Back in 2006, Rambo was tasked with turning round the fortunes of Morgans in Liverpool. The celebrity chef was working with mother Sandy Morgan and daughters Helen and Laura.

Gordon wanted to focus on celebrating ‘ladies that lunch’ and develop a welcoming bistro for visitors.

To try to raise interest and focus on this new ethos the chef tweaked the menu and organised a lavish relaunch party which featured a guestlist of famous faces.

Amongst those invited were one-time Emmerdale stars Sheree Murphy and Adele Silva. Sheree was known to fans of the ITV soap as Tricia Dingle while Adele played Kelly Windsor.

Ultimately, the rescue mission for Morgans was short-lived with being sold in 2007. The business is currently running as a French restaurant called Caveau.

In Yorkshire, Gordon infamously paid a visit to Bonapartes in Silsden. This was the first ever episode of Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares.

Filmed in 2003, the restaurant was owned by Sue Ray with TV chef wannabe Tim Gray working as executive chef. At the time of filming, the eatery was only taking in £200 a week and welcomed few customers.

To try get to the bottom of Bonapartes’ problems, Gordon, sets Tim the challenge of cooking a signature dish and he cooks a scallop dish. In his own unique way, Gordon, tells the chef they aren’t up to scratch.

The celebrity chef said: "He’s only gone and given me a rancid scallop."

Worse still, he’s sick while eating them and later comes down with food poisoning.
