When does the transfer window shut across Europe? Everything you need to know

The Premier League and Championship transfer window slams shut this week and time is running out for clubs to complete their business.

A wealth of money has already been splashed and those figures are likely to increase in the final days of the window - but it is not just clubs in the top-two tiers of English football looking for business.

Championship clubs voted to close their transfer window on the same date as those in the Premier League but that does not apply for EFL clubs in League One and League Two, with the window remaining open until the end of August.

That means those clubs in the third and fourth tier of English football can continue to sign players from teams in the Premier League and Championship, either permanently or on loan.

Significantly though, the window also remains open for clubs in Germany, Spain, Italy and France, who can also swoop to land players from the Premier League and the Championship.

In Italy, the Serie A transfer window remains open until Sunday August 18th, while the windows for LaLiga, Ligue 1 and the Bundesliga close on Saturday August 31st.

In Scotland, the transfer window remains open until September 1st, while the transfer window in the Netherlands shuts the following day.

The final European window to close is in Russia, where the window will remain open until September 6th.
