When does the Premier League summer transfer window open and close for Leeds United?

Leeds United are gearing up for life back in the Premier League, and Marcelo Bielsa will no doubt be looking to do some business this summer.

The Whites have finally ended their 16-year wait to return to the top flight, having secured their promotion from the Championship.

All thoughts will now be on next season, and how they’ll prepare to take on the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea once again.

The first port of call will of course be this summer’s transfer window as Bielsa strengthens his squad for the toughest of challenges.

The Argentine will soon be able to dip into the market, which has been delayed by the coronavirus pandemic, but will soon be up and running as the Premier League season draws to a close.

When does the transfer window open?

The transfer window will open on Monday, July 27, and will then be open for 10 weeks.

That means the window will open the day after the final round of fixtures in the Premier League, with all 20 teams playing at the same time on Sunday, July 26.

When does it close?

The regular window will come to a close on Monday, October 5.

Following consultation with the EFL though, there will be an extension to that deadline for a domestic-only window.

When does the domestic-only window end?

This window will be closed at 5pm on Friday, October 16.

During the domestic-only window, Premier League will still be able to agree to loans or permanent signings, but only with EFL clubs (Championship, League One and League Two).

No transfers can take place between Premier League clubs during this period.

All dates are subject to the approval of FIFA, although it’s expected they will be confirmed.
