There's just over a month left until clubs can resume transfer dealings.
After the pandemic affected the normal schedule in 2020, the summer window was of course extended to cover the first month of the elongated 2020-21 campaign.
That meant teams could sanction deals as late as mid-October, meaning a shorter gap of less than three months between the two windows.
Many Premier League clubs spurned by top targets in the summer often return in the winter transfer window with improved bids and better contract offers.
And there is usually a glut of loan signings, particularly among EFL clubs eager to freshen up their squads.
In Leeds United's case, it is unlikely that there will be too many fireworks given the £100million summer spending spree, but Victor Orta and company will no doubt be ready to react to any opportunities that arise next month.

When does the transfer window open?
Clubs can trade again as of Saturday, January 2, 2021.
In total, they will have 31 days to seal permanent transfers and loan arrangements, to and from fellow clubs.
When does it close?
The window slams shut on Monday, February 1, 2021.
The cut-off point for deals is 11pm that night.
Likely to be another domestic window?
It seems not.
The "summer" window closed on October 5 but a domestic-only window remained open for another 11 days.
This allowed EFL clubs to trade between themselves, with Premier League sides restricted to buying only from EFL clubs and not fellow top flight sides.
