The British and Irish Lions squad is announced today and the countdown can now begin to the tour of South Africa this summer.
It is a Lions tour that didn't look like it was going to happen at one stage amid the coronavirus pandemic, but the decision has been made to honour the touring tradition of the team and head to the home of the world champions despite the expected lack of travelling support.
The 2021 Lions tour will now consist of eight matches, two less than originally planned, with a warm-up game against Japan at Murrayfield on June 26 also scheduled. There will be three Test matches against the Springboks
The Lions have a two-week training camp in jersey before the action begins and will head to South Africa almost immediately after facing Japan.

Is the Lions series on TV?
The Lions matches will be shown exclusively live on Sky Sports this summer. Details on which of the channels will show the games have yet to be announced.
