When does Love Island 2025 start and who will host the hit show?

A summer of love is back on the cards for the UK, as Love Island gears up for yet another series.

That’s right, it is nearly that time again, but this time it won’t be former Islanders and famous faces gracing our screens, but a whole new set of newbies looking to find ‘the one’.

Summer 2025 will see a new load of civilians enter the villa, and although we don’t have the full details yet, more is set to be released in the coming weeks.

As the countdown begins, here is everything we know so far.

When does the series start?

ITV has not confirmed the Love Island UK 2025 kick-off date but judging from previous years, we are expecting things to begin at the start of June.

As in previous years, it is expected to air at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX either on Monday, June 2 or Monday, June 9.

The show is expected to run for eight weeks, taking viewers through a summer of romance, drama, and unexpected twists.

Who will host the show?

Maya Jama is back to host this summer after a series of rumours hinted she may not be back after the All Stars version.

There were rumours that Maya had quit the show but she shut them down, talking to Instagram stories saying: “I will be presenting Love Island and have no plans to leave right now. I filmed promo a couple of days ago actually. Fake news is fake news-ing as usual.”

Who will appear?

The lineup has not yet been made public, but the rumour mill is already in overdrive.

According to reports, bosses are already hoping to sign an Instagram influencer to grace our screens.

Transgender recruitment adviser Michelle Roscoe who already has 23K followers on Instagram has reportedly been in talks with the show about appearing.

A source told The Sun: “Love Island are always looking to evolve and move with the times when it comes to their contestants. They have met with Michelle and spoken to her about whether Love Island would be the right show for her.

“She is absolutely gorgeous and an advocate for the trans community so she’d be an incredibly interesting contestant.”
