When does Line of Duty start on BBC One?

Line of Duty fans... it's almost time.

Viewers have been waiting two years fro the next instalment of the BBC One cop drama after an explosive fifth series.

But in a matter of weeks, Superintendent Ted Hastings, Detective Inspector Kate Fleming and Detective Sergeant Steve Arnott - aka Adrian Dunbar, Vicky McClure and Martin Compston - will all be back on our screens.

The exact plot of series six is kept tightly under wraps but we do know AC-12 - the controversial police anti-corruption unit - will be continuing their hunt for the mysterious and dangerous 'H'.

There's also someone new on the scene with Trainspotting actress Kelly Macdonald set to guest star as Detective Chief Inspector Joanne Davidson.

The first trailer has already been released (BBC One)

DCI Davidson is a senior investigating officer on an unsolved murder case whose unconventional conduct raises the suspicions of AC-12.

The new series will begin on March 21 at 9pm on BBC One.

Other cast members joining for the new series include Our Girl's Shalom Brune-Franklin, Kiri's Andi Osho and Doctor Foster's Prasanna Puwanarajah.

Filming on the latest Line of Duty, created and written by Jed Mercurio, started in February 2020 but suffered delays as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
